When I served on this ship in the US Navy between the years of 1971-1972  I was 18 years old and on board for her commissioning ceremony in San Diego, CA  At that time I could not wait to get off of her. Now that she has been ​​​​​decommissioned in June 1994 and sold for scrap metal I don't mind talking about it.
